Have you envisioned something, then wondered “Is it possible? Can it be done?”
If these questions are popping into your head, you have the wherewithal to make it happen. In other words, if you can envision it, you can find a way to make it happen.
You may not know how to accomplish it, but the fact that you can envision it means that it is possible. All too often people ignore these ideas because the way forward isn’t obvious…which is why they’re questioning whether it’s possible. Consequently, they deprive themselves of the opportunity to do something that’s both enjoyable and meaningful.
Don’t let that happen to you. Instead of dismissing the idea because you’re not sure if it’s possible, give some thought to how it might work. As you explore different approaches to making it a reality, you’ll find some that won’t work. You’ll find others that show promise, but aren’t quite there yet.
With these latter ideas, you can accelerate discovery of a path to making your idea a reality by employing your subconscious mind. Simply ask your subconscious: “How can I get past this obstacle? How can I make this work?” Your subconscious mind is designed to find solutions that your conscious mind is unable find…to make connections between seemingly disparate approaches that offer you the path to what you’re trying to accomplish.
Bigger Question
This brings us to the next, and bigger, question is: “Do I want to?” Just because you see a way to making what you envision a reality doesn’t mean that doing so will be fun, exciting and worthwhile for you to do.
One of the things that I advise clients to do when any new idea presents itself is to:
- Identify the first 3 to 5 steps that they’ll have to take to move toward their goal.
- On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being high, rate your willingness to do each of these steps.
- If they’re all 4s or 5s, go for it. Your success is assured.
- If they’re all 3s, you’ve only got a 50-50 chance of making it work…and it won’t be fun.
- If they’re 1s and 2s, find another idea to pursue; your interest isn’t sufficient to sustain you through the inevitable challenges you’ll face.
Takeaways
Anything you envision, you can accomplish…even if you don’t immediately see a way to make it happen.
If what you envision intrigues you, explore ways of making it happen. You can accelerate the discovery of how to make it happen by asking your subconscious mind “How can I make this happen?” Your subconscious mind is built for this kind of effort; your conscious mind not so much so.
As you identify what needs to be done, ask yourself “Is this what I really want to do?” Better yet, employ the methodology outlined above for gauging your interest in doing what’s essential to make your vision a reality.

Bill, couldn’t agree more. That old adage that we become who we associate with couldn’t be more true. When we associate with talented people with strong ethics and a desire to help others, life gets much easier. Thanks for sharing.
